Uncomfortable progress

So last year I relocated back to Rochester and I actually ended up at the shop I really wanted to Tattoo at since I started –White Tiger Tattoo!!
This I am very happy about ! The fellow peers I work with are awesome in personality and the environment is really stress free, which is awesome as the other shops I have worked at were NOT this way, not even close.
How does this relate to my artwork? Well working with Joe, Star, TeeJay, and Maria makes one not want to stay complacent… The artistic feel at this shop makes one want to pursue things that are new and uncomfortable…..
PAINTING! I have only done one painting before the one posted here, and it was at school so I had a teacher help tremendously! This is very uncomfortable for me as I have no idea of how the painting process works! So when I wanted to try my hand at painting, I was encouraged (even pushed into it) so I went out and got a HUGE canvas and had this great Idea to paint a skull and flower. I got really excited about it and started right in on this huge painting , not heading the words of Star or TeeJay –you know, start small, work your way up –all that. Why start small ! Go big or stay home right?
HAHA !
Well needless to say that painting is put WAY on hold ! After dismal success at that painting I went out and got some small canvases and proceeded to take it small and slow. I am so Glad to have everyone at the shop help me realize the right way to approach new artistic expressions !
Here is the result –not earthshattering –but I am happy with it!

Were to start?

Guess I will start with some artwork I have already loaded on computer. This is a good representation of my work (illustrations). Some comic artwork , a good number of pinups, graffetti, etc. This is were I am really comfortable.......
I am not comfortable BLOGGING --hence my attempt makes me uncomfortable as HELL! but my peers have FORCED this upon me! (along with other digital communications I am not comfortable with) Dammit!
Also this year I will be trying to focus on stuff that I am NOT comfortable with... in my artwork. Going back to live figure drawing , painting? (me paint?) , working with others in a group setting? ETC
Hope it will be a fun journey, and I am excited to look back next year at actually "blogging"  and the progress of my artwork.......
